Snow Season Checklist

Pre-Season
Review SOW, ensure “triggers” and boundaries are understood
Confirm and distribute communication tree (off-hour points of contact, call center, etc.)
Supplier to inspect and document any pre-snow season existing damages, i.e. curbs, roads, walks, grass, signs, lights…determine who will be making repairs and timeframe
Stake the property so there is visibility into curbs, speed bumps, fire hydrants and other obstacles
Account to share process around late arrival, closures and the role of the supplier
Confirm if each site is occupied for business hour events vs weekend or if it's a 24 / 7 operational site
Discuss staffing levels (typically larger sites), plans for long duration events, in-house staffing considerations
Discuss if applicable rest and / or bio-break areas
Accommodate for food for supplier (if applicable)
Build out site staging / priority map with supplier
Ensure bulk / bagged material is stored properly
Determine any eco-friendly alternatives - electric spreaders, brining, rotary / drop spreaders, calcium magnesium acetate
Inspect property and determine any site hazards. Discuss with CBRE EHS as needed
Develop and store any relevant SDS (safety data sheet) accessible to the account
Develop and store any relevant JHA’s (job hazard analysis) accessible to the account
Ensure first aid procedures are in place and incident / accident documentation process is in place
Identify any transient equipment
Confirm frequency for communication during storm-events - types of storm, update format, frequency of updates, and 3rd party forecasts
Document lessons learned
Ensure stationary equipment continues to be stored safely / no leaks
Preparations in place for follow up melt and refreeze / treatments as needed
Mid-Season
Any incidents / accidents have been properly reported
Review lessons learned
Supplier to inspect and document any post-snow season existing damages, i.e. curbs, roads, walks, grass, signs, lights, etc.
Repairs made to damages caused by supplier
