1) Normal vs. After Hours

Considerations:

• Confirm if the entire panel be serviced after hours
• Verify the type of alarm notification testing (strobes / sirens) and whether these services will be performed during after hours

The list below identifies savings opportunities within the FLS Category. Be sure to review considerations before implementing these options.

3) Self-Performance

Considerations:

• Maximize self-performance on basic services that don't require certified technician
  • Primarily fire extinguishers, emergency lights, exit signs, fire doors
• Reduces "truck time" and site visit costs for simple & quick visual inspections
• Many tasks take 1 minute to perform - for example:
  • Emergency light test by holding test button for 30 seconds 
  • Visual inspection of fire door to ensure it is closed and not obstructed
• Outlier locations may be difficult to self-perform for more frequent services (monthly inspections)

Considerations:

• If possible utilizing non-union labor can result in savings
• Client and locations will sometimes mandate union labor

2) Supplier Consolidation

Considerations:

• Supplier consolidation can drive savings through increased overall volume and reduced truck rolls
• If an opportunity exists to consolidate down to fewer suppliers there can be savings through volume
