Category Definition

Food service operations involves the management, food preparation, and provision of Food operations in multiple environments where the food may be Free of charge, charged at full rate, or charged with a subsidy. Food Services Category includes:

  • Food Services (The making and delivery of “Prepared” foods to businesses)
  • Catering ("on-demand" preparation of food and meals on premise for consumption on premises)
  • Cafeteria (A food service in which customers select a range of food from a servery for consumption on-premise)
  • Coffee (The provision of Coffee services that may include other beverages such as tea and water for consumption in an office or commercial environment. This is mostly a self-service operation)
  • Vending (pre-packed foods and beverages in a display cabinet). These items may be revenue-generating or free of charge to the customer
